Tata Technologies and Emerson Join Forces to Redefine Testing for the Future of Mobility

In a strategic move set to reshape the landscape of advanced vehicle development, Tata Technologies and Emerson have announced a global partnership aimed at transforming how mobility solutions are tested and validated. By integrating Tata Technologies’ expertise in systems engineering and E/E architecture with Emerson’s cutting-edge test and measurement technologies, the two companies are building the foundation for faster, smarter, and more cost-effective validation of next-generation mobility platforms.

This collaboration directly addresses the mounting complexity of software-defined, connected, autonomous, and electric vehicles (EVs). OEMs across the automotive, aerospace, and commercial vehicle sectors are under increasing pressure to deliver competitive, feature-rich products—without inflating development timelines or costs. This new alliance aims to meet that challenge head-on.

Engineering the Future, Faster

“We are thrilled to collaborate with Emerson to innovate intelligent, automated testing and validation solutions,” said Nachiket Paranjpe, President and Head of Automotive Sales at Tata Technologies. “This partnership reinforces our commitment to engineering a software-defined future.”

The power of this partnership is already visible. In a pilot project with a European luxury carmaker, the duo developed EV powertrain test rigs in just five months—an impressive 67% reduction from the typical 15-month cycle. In another case, they built a fully automated validation system for a next-gen infotainment head-up display, running over 30,000 test scenarios to accelerate product delivery timelines significantly.

End-to-End Testing at Global Scale

According to Shitendra Bhattacharya, Country Head at Emerson India, the collaboration represents a powerful synergy:

“Together, we can deliver end-to-end solutions that help customers reduce complexity and stay ahead in a highly dynamic transportation landscape.”

Pilot programs are currently underway in India, Europe, and North America, showcasing the global ambitions of this alliance. The vision is to help OEMs test and validate increasingly complex vehicle systems—ranging from software and embedded systems to complete powertrain and infotainment units—faster, smarter, and more reliably.

Why This Matters

As the auto and aerospace industries undergo a seismic shift toward software-defined platforms, the traditional approaches to validation are no longer sufficient. Vehicles today are rolling computers—with complex electronics, embedded AI, and connected features. This calls for intelligent test systems that can scale, automate, and evolve rapidly—precisely what this Tata-Emerson alliance is building.

With early success stories already in motion, this partnership is not just about speeding up development. It’s about redefining how future mobility is engineered and delivered.
