Silicon Labs, a renowned USA-based semiconductor design and manufacturing company, has joined hands with GITAM (Deemed to be University) to establish a cutting-edge Centre of Innovation in Internet of Things (IoT). This initiative is designed to foster creativity, enhance technical expertise, and prepare students for promising careers in IoT and semiconductor industries.
Equipped with state-of-the-art hardware and software tools, the lab will serve as a hub for innovation, enabling students to develop connected electronic systems and explore IoT solutions. As part of this collaboration:
- Silicon Labs will provide essential hardware kits, advanced software development tools, comprehensive training sessions, and technical support.
- GITAM University will contribute lab space, equipment, and a dedicated team of faculty members to guide and mentor students.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for this partnership was officially exchanged during a ceremony attended by distinguished individuals, including:
- Prof. Y Gowtham Rao, In-charge Vice-Chancellor of GITAM.
- N Venkatesh, Senior Director of Engineering at Silicon Labs.
- Prof. D Gunasekharan, GITAM Registrar.
- Other notable faculty and innovation leaders from GITAM University.
During the event, N Venkatesh emphasized that the Centre of Innovation would serve as a platform for students to unleash their creativity and develop unique IoT applications. This collaboration reflects a shared vision of nurturing talent and advancing the IoT ecosystem in India.
