Fujitsu’s MBH7BLZ07 Bluetooth Smart module is approximately 50% smaller than its predecessor, the MBH7BLZ02, yet packs a Nordic Semiconductor nRF51822 SoC, which is built around an ARM 32-bit Cortex M0 CPU with 256 kbytes of flash memory and 16 kbytes of RAM.With its miniature 11.5×7.9×1.7-mm size and low power consumption, the device enables the design of smaller and lighter battery-powered wireless devices that are capable of operating longer.
The MBH7BLZ07 contains Fujitsu’s unique data-communication profile, which provides more than 60 commands and allows data transmission via a UART. Alternatively, a version of the part is available without embedded firmware, designated the MBH7BLZ07-109033. Applications for this version can be developed using Nordic Semiconductor’s software library, with full access to the onboard CPU.
Outfitted with an embedded pattern antenna, the FCC-approved MBH7BLZ07 can be used in any number of Internet-enabled devices for healthcare, fitness, and consumer entertainment. Operating over a temperature range of -40°C to +85°C, the MBH7BLZ07 consumes 12 mA typical (at 0 dBm in transmit mode), while the MBH7BLZ07-109033 version consumes 10.5 mA typical (at 0 dBm in transmit mode).
