In a historic announcement, President Donald Trump, joined by tech leaders Larry Ellison (Oracle), Masayoshi Son (SoftBank), and Sam Altman (OpenAI), unveiled the Stargate AI Infrastructure Project, a $500 billion initiative aimed at revolutionizing AI infrastructure in the United States.

This project, heralded as the largest in U.S. history, will invest $100 billion immediately, generating over 100,000 jobs and laying the foundation for next-generation advancements in artificial intelligence.

Accelerating AI Innovation

Speaking at a White House press conference, Trump emphasized the importance of keeping AI development in the U.S. amidst global competition. He announced that the project would include massive data centers, critical for powering the evolution of AI technologies.

“This is about ensuring the future of technology stays in the United States,” said Trump. “We’re building colossal data centers and making electricity production easier to support this expansion.”

Infrastructure to Power AI

Larry Ellison highlighted the vast scale of the Stargate project, noting that Oracle, OpenAI, and SoftBank are collaborating to build physical and virtual AI infrastructure. Currently, 110 data centers spanning 500,000 square feet each are under construction in Texas, with more campuses planned in other U.S. locations.

Ellison described one of the most impactful applications: AI-powered electronic health records (EHRs). These records will enable better diagnosis, treatment plans, and healthcare delivery, especially in remote and underserved areas.

“A doctor in the Indian River Reservation could access treatment guidance from experts at Memorial Sloan Kettering or Stanford,” Ellison explained. “AI will transform how we understand and treat patients.”

Stargate’s $500 billion investment represents more than just infrastructure; it signifies a commitment to U.S. leadership in AI.
