In a significant boost to India’s ‘Make in India’ initiative, Foxconn’s subsidiary Ennoconn is preparing to establish its presence in the country, with a primary focus on industrial automation and digital transformation. The Taiwan-based firm has already registered a company in Tamil Nadu, aiming to introduce its advanced industrial solutions to the domestic market, according to recent reports.
Foxconn, the parent company of Ennoconn, already has a strong foothold in India, operating a massive iPhone assembly plant in Sriperumbudur, Tamil Nadu, employing around 40,000 workers.
Ennoconn’s Expertise in Industrial IoT and Smart Manufacturing
Ennoconn Corporation is a global leader in Industrial IoT, embedded technology, and cloud management services. Acquired by Foxconn in 2007, the company is headquartered in New Taipei City, Taiwan, and has built a reputation for delivering end-to-end digital transformation strategies.
The company provides cutting-edge industrial IoT and embedded technology, design manufacturing services, and IT and system integration solutions. It has a strong presence in high-growth sectors such as Smart Cities, Smart Manufacturing, Smart Retail, Financial Services, and Media & Entertainment.
Ennoconn states, “We deliver Digital Transformation strategies across all internal design, manufacturing, and supply chain platforms and disciplines.”
Competing in India’s Expanding Industrial IoT Market
India’s Industrial IoT market is currently dominated by global giants such as Siemens, Taiwan-based Advantech, and Rockwell Automation. With its Industrial Metaverse transformation, Ennoconn aims to introduce cloud-based AIoT solutions, revolutionizing smart factories and industrial automation in the country.
Government Support for Domestic Manufacturing
The Indian government continues to push for rapid industrial growth through initiatives like the Production-Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme. The 2025-26 budget has significantly increased allocations for key sectors, reaffirming its commitment to domestic manufacturing and digital transformation.
As of August 2024, investments amounting to Rs 1.46 lakh crore have already been realized, with projections exceeding Rs 2 lakh crore within a year. These investments have contributed to a substantial increase in production and sales, totaling Rs 12.50 lakh crore, while creating nearly 9.5 lakh jobs—a number expected to rise to 12 lakh soon.
Several industries have benefited from higher PLI allocations, with electronics and IT hardware funding increasing from Rs 5,777 crore (2024-25) to Rs 9,000 crore, and automobile and auto components witnessing a dramatic rise from Rs 346.87 crore to Rs 2,818.85 crore.
A New Era of Industrial Innovation
With Ennoconn’s expansion into India, the industrial automation landscape is set for a major transformation. The company’s expertise in AIoT, embedded technology, and cloud-based solutions aligns well with India’s vision of a digitally connected, automated, and self-reliant industrial sector.
As the country continues to attract high-value global investments, Ennoconn’s India entry could play a pivotal role in shaping the future of smart manufacturing and industrial digitization in the region.
