e& and IBM Join Forces to Strengthen AI Governance and Compliance Framework

In a significant move toward responsible AI implementation, e& has partnered with IBM to deploy a groundbreaking multi-model Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Generative AI governance solution. The announcement was made at the World Economic Forum 2025 in Davos, highlighting e&’s commitment to enhancing its AI governance framework. The collaboration aims to promote compliance, ethical oversight, and transparency across e&’s expanding AI ecosystem.

Transforming AI Governance with IBM watsonx.governance

e& will leverage IBM’s watsonx.governance enterprise AI platform, coupled with IBM Consulting’s expertise, to establish a robust AI governance system. This initiative will allow e& to monitor its AI models comprehensively, address risks like non-compliance and ethical concerns, and ensure adherence to regulatory standards throughout the AI model lifecycle.

The governance solution introduces features such as automated risk management, real-time performance analysis, and compliance tracking, empowering e& to detect biases, manage AI risks proactively, and optimize AI operations. By maintaining a centralized inventory of AI models, e& can achieve full traceability, enabling early detection of issues like bias and drift while safeguarding ethical AI practices.

Pioneering Responsible AI Practices

“At e&, we are committed to leading by example and setting the global benchmark for AI governance practices,” stated Dena Almansoori, Group Chief AI and Data Officer at e&. “Adopting IBM watsonx.governance ensures transparency, explainability, and efficiency across our AI operations, raising the bar for responsible AI practices.”

IBM watsonx.governance empowers organizations like e& to navigate the complexities of AI governance through automation, real-time monitoring, and centralized oversight. This collaboration sets the stage for scalable and transparent AI operations, reducing risks and ensuring measurable value for stakeholders.

AI Governance Framework Tailored to e&’s Needs

IBM Consulting will work closely with e& to design a comprehensive AI governance framework. This includes defining workflows, creating key performance indicators (KPIs), and onboarding existing AI models to deliver real-time insights into AI’s value, impact, and risks. IBM’s AI-powered Consulting Advantage platform will accelerate the development process, providing tools such as persona mapping, architecture patterns, and knowledge transfer materials.

Collaboration Highlights Regional Leadership in AI

This partnership builds on the long-standing relationship between IBM and e&, which includes the recently published joint report, MENA’s AI Advantage: Opportunity to Leap Ahead and Lead. The report underscores the importance of trustworthy AI in the Middle East and North Africa region, offering insights to CEOs on seizing AI-driven opportunities.

Setting a New Standard for AI Governance

With this collaboration, e& is setting a precedent for responsible AI operations in the industry. The AI governance solution will allow e& to manage its current AI use cases in real-time, mitigate potential risks, and ensure ethical AI practices.

Shukri Eid, General Manager at IBM for the Gulf, Levant, and Pakistan, emphasized, “Strengthening our partnership with e&, this milestone serves as a catalyst for responsible AI innovation, addressing governance challenges and reducing risks.”

As e& continues its ambitious AI strategy, the collaboration with IBM reinforces its commitment to ethical AI adoption, offering a scalable, transparent, and compliant framework that can serve as a model for the broader industry.
