DigiKey has announced the launch of STMicroelectronics’ second-generation STM32MP25 microprocessors. The new STM32MP25 MPUs expand the flagship STM32 product portfolio, meeting the demands of developers for advanced edge computing solutions and driving innovations across smart factories, healthcare, buildings, and infrastructure.
Empowering Edge AI and Industry 4.0 The STM32MP25 microprocessors are designed for high-end edge computing applications, such as machine vision, enabling significant advancements in Industry 4.0. These industrial-grade MPUs feature single or dual 64-bit Arm Cortex-A35 cores, providing robust performance for edge processing while maintaining power efficiency.
A key highlight of the STM32MP25 is its dedicated neural processing unit (NPU), which delivers up to 1.35 TOPS (tera operations per second). This accelerates edge AI workloads, making the STM32MP25 a strong choice for applications requiring advanced machine vision and AI-driven insights.

Streamlined Development with OpenSTLinux Ecosystem STMicroelectronics has paired the STM32MP25 microprocessors with the STM32MP257F-DK Discovery Kit and OpenSTLinux software, providing a complete development platform for edge AI and IoT applications. This comprehensive ecosystem ensures developers can rapidly design and prototype their solutions, reducing time-to-market for connected devices.
